  • For Individuals aged 6 months – 70 years

  • Minimum and Maximum age of the Insured /Insured Person shall be 3 months up to 60 years.
  • In case you / your family members are insured under “Family Plan “, the minimum age of the Insured / Insured Person shall be 3 months and maximum age shall be 60 years.
  • Maximum 4 persons may be covered under a Family Plan (inclusive of the Insured and his/her lawful spouse and maximum of two dependent children below the age of 21 years.)
  • Under family plans, the sum insured is floating on the entire family members, except in case of Personal Accident benefit where the sum insured is applicable separately to each and every Insured Person of the family.

Type Policy Covers
1.Medical & Emergency Expenses Reliance overseas travel insurance covers you for any emergency medical expenses incurred by you or any of your family members whilst abroad, for any sudden illness or injury or death.Reliance overseas travel policy consists of two types of medical expenses they are:1.Reimbursible medical expenses:The traveler has to bear all the expenses and claim for reimbursement later.2.Medical expenses is due to hospitalization for than 24 hours:The billing will be done directly to the hospital from the insurance company.Note: In either of the case, the traveler has to bear the deductible.
2.Dental Treatment Reliance overseas travel cover dental expenses incurred by you or any of your family members for any acute anesthetic treatment of teeth due to an injury.
3.Personal Accident Reliance overseas travel insurance pay compensation if you or any of your family members unfortunately sustain accidental bodily injury during the trip.
4.Accidental Death -Common Carrier Reliance overseas travel insurance policy also provides compensation for death or permanent disability arising due to an accident while riding as a passenger in a common carrier.
5.Loss of passport Reliance overseas travel shall reimburse the cost of obtaining a fresh or duplicate passport
6.Total loss of checked-in baggage Reliance overseas travel insurance policy compensates you for the total loss of your checked-in baggage caused by a common carrier.
7.Delay of checked-in baggage If your checked baggage is delayed more than 12 hours, the reasonable expenses incurred for the purchase of toiletries, clothing and medication shall be reimbursed.
8. Trip Delay Additional expenses shall be reimbursed in case your trip is delayed for more than 12 hours due to airline problems, medical problems, personal employment problems or natural disasters.
9.Trip Cancelation & Interruption If the trip gets cancelled or interrupted – due to any medical emergency, personal employment problems or natural disaster – compensation for any non-refundable payments or additional expenses incurred will be paid.
10.Missed Connection If you miss a connecting flight due to a delay of more than 3 hours, then additional expenses incurred by you will be reimbursed.
11.Compassionate Visit Reliance overseas travel insurance policy reimburse the return fare for an immediate family member to visit you in the unfortunate event of you being hospitalised for more than seven consecutive days.
12.Personal Liability: Reliance overseas travel insurance policy offer compensation for liability/damages paid to a third party, resulting from death, injury or damage to health or property that is caused involuntarily by you or your family member abroad.
13.Financial Emergency Assistance Reliance overseas travel arrange for emergency cash to be made available to you in case of loss of travel funds due to theft.

2.What is a deductible? Why is this necessary?

A.Deductible also referred to as excess is the portion of any claim; as a period of time for which the company will not pay any benefit or as a percentage of the sum insured or a fixed amount that is not covered by the insurance policy. It is mutually agreed and is mentioned in the policy schedule to the Insurance Policy.

A deductible is important as makes the insured a co-owner of the policy by taking up a certain portion of the loss himself/ herself.

3.What is the age criterion I have to fulfil to be covered under your International travel policy? Or what is the maximum age for which you issue a policy?

A.Reliance General Insurance offers policies for children aged 6 months and above and to individuals up to 70 years. However if the insured is above 70 years then a medical check up is required.

4.What is the paperwork in need for buying a travel policy?

A.To take a travel insurance policy through us all you have to do is submit a duly filled proposal form along with the premium cheque. Only in the case where a senior citizen between ages 60-70 years plans to take an insurance policy will we require him to undergo a medical test and submit the medical report.
